The Strong Black Woman: Myth or Reality?

The Strong Black Woman: Myth or Reality?

I was having a conversation with a group of women today, and the subject of the "Strong Black Woman" came up. It was with a mixed group and I found the discussion absolutely fascinating.

So I want to engage your thinking (my brothers and sisters) as well. What is your definition of a Strong Black Woman. Is she a myth or reality?

Brothers: How do/would you define her? Do you or would you embrace her as your partner in life? If yes, why so? If no, why no… Continue

Sonia Brown Speaks

Today I am going to stop looking backwards (in the past) in the hope that I can make my future better. Today, I am going to give myself permission to be happy.

To be happy, I have to be courageous, because it takes courage for us to choose to be happy. You know something will happen to test this affirmation but it is only my feelings and reactions to each situation, obstacle, barrier, issue that determines where it will lead. But one thing is for sure, when I choose to be happy, no matter what life throws at me I know and accept that everything always works out for the best.
