We provide dynamic initiatives, enabling women from diverse backgrounds and occupations to develop strong professional and social contacts; high quality training and education programmes; leadership and national recognition.

We work to ensure that the contributions and influence of black women are recognised as vital forces within the public and private sector, business, corporate, arts, media and entertainment fields.

Quote of the Day

Nothing makes people so worthy of compliments as receiving them.

One is more delightful for being told one is delightful -- just as one is angrier for being told one is angry.

Why are black women less likely to marry?

Hi,

As a norm I never buy the 'Voice Newspaper'. I was told about the article the title of this blog by a male friend and in a mad frenzy I rushed out tand purchased the artice.

I read the article which in summary states that the more educated you are as a black woman, the less likely you are to be married and with a child. Our white female counterparts are doing a lot better. I do recall when I was at Law School the long lecture I go from my mother about making sure I get an education and yes… Continue

Sonia Brown Speaks

Have you recently found yourself agreeing to do something that at the time felt right but upon reflection was completely wrong?

Would agreeing to the situation satisfy your goals or the other person’s? Were you reluctant to make that difficult, unpopular decision to say ‘no’ because you were thinking of others rather than yourself?

It is vital to remember that your goals are YOURS!

In order to achieve them you must think of your intent. What may sound like a good idea at first may cause you a lot of pain and heartache in the long run if they take you away from YOUR purpose. Don’t go against your spiritual current if you feel that you are rowing backwards. No matter the situation, these are just blips on the journey of life.

As we face the many challenges that life has to offer remember that drama tends to happen when you take on other people’s baggage. You are responsible for your own development, purpose and spiritual wellbeing.

Keep a positive attitude because you have to remain focussed, determined and clear that what you chose for you is right for YOU in 2010.

Go live your best life ever.....
